The Rules

- The rec you write must use standard grammar and spelling, and it must follow the posting format.
- The fic you rec must be high quality. It must use standard grammar and spelling and be beta read where possible (though we realize not all authors recognize their betas). But more than that, it must stand out as exceptional enough to warrant the recommendation. Consider fics that you feel are outstanding examples of your fandom.
- If you volunteer, you commit to writing at least one rec per week for one month, with a maximum of ten recs per month.
- Check previous recs within your fandom(s) to make someone else hasn't already recommended the fic(s) you have chosen.
- No self-recs. No WIPs
- If a friend is writing recommendations for the month, do not ask her/him to rec your fic. Likewise, do not recommend your friends' fics solely because your friends wrote them. Reccommending a friend's fic is fine as long as it is exemplary enough to warrant the rec.
- Do not link to friends locked posts.
- All entries should be tagged by category.
- Posting access lasts for the month that you are assigned. Don't wait until the last hour of the last day of the month to post your rec. You might find that your access has already been removed. The cut off should be midnight (EST) but we can't guarantee that. It could be as early as midnight (GMT).
- If you fail to reach the promised level of commitment (one rec per week for one month) without notifying the mods or if you fail to follow the above rules, your posting access will be taken away and we reserve the right to deny you access in the future.
- Have fun! Drama is not fun, so try to avoid it.

Anything Goes Day:
- On the last Sunday of the month, we will host an "anything goes" day.
- If there is a fic you want to see recommended at any time during the month, email your recommendation (in our posting format) to Please put Anything Goes Day Rec for (Month) in the subject of your email.
- One of the mods will compile the recs and post them on the last Sunday of each month.

Posting Format (in handy dandy html for your cut and paste pleasure):
We would like to thank [community profile] crack_van for allowing us to use their very efficient posting format.

This is not the space to squee over why you thought this fic was so great. Please provide a few thoughtful sentences on why you think this fic is worth everyone else's time. Consider why this fic is an outstanding example of its fandom, why it is an accessable example of its fandom (e.g. it's great smut, it's characterization is spot on, it's themes exemplify themes grappled with on the show, etc).

If your review is longer than a few paragraphs, or if you're including excerpts from the fic, please use an lj-cut. Instructions on using cut-tags are found here
